The Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Recorder converts an HDMI or HDSDI signal to Thunderbolt, allowing the user to capture live video from a camcorder on to a computer with a Thunderbolt connection.
 
A great tool for video conferencing applications, the UltraStudio Mini Recorder can be set as the video input on video conferencing software such as Skype allowing the user to utilise the quality of a Professional Camera or the flexibility of a wide angle or long focus lens instead of the laptop’s built in webcam.
 
Alternatively, the UltraStudio Mini recorder can be used with Blackmagic’s free ‘Media Express’ software to capture high quality-uncompressed video directly onto a computer with a Thunderbolt connection.
